Justine Waddell is a British actress famous for playing roles on both the silver and television. She has every quality that one would expect in a serious, thoughtful, and elegant actress of the first order. As wife, Zoya, of wealthy oligarch in Russian language film The Target, as Princess Evelyn in Tarsem Singh’s cult hit movie, the Fall, as glacial Estella in Great Expectations opposite Charlotte Rampling and as Tess in Tess of the D’Urbervilles. She has been nominated and won awards including the Ian Charlson Award for her Nina in Anton Chekhov’s the Seagull, and the Broadcaasting Press Guild Best Actress Award for her performance in Elizabeth Gaskell’s Wives and Daughters.

Apart from films and television shows, Justine Waddell also appeared in various theatrical productions like Anton Chekhov’s Ivanov opposite Ralph Fiennes and Anton Chekhov's the Seagull opposite Penelope Wilton. In 2015, this beautiful actress was on the jury of the Eurasia International Film Festival with Abderrahmane Sissako in Kazakhstan. She also took part in the BBC New Year Film Program on Radio 4 to discuss women in film with Francine Stock, Carol Morley and Elizabeth Karlson. This actress has been honored as a world wide Ambassador of the St Petersburg Cultural Forum.

Justine Waddelllearned the Russian language on the set of Target(Mishen) in 2011 and became the first English language actress to perform a role entirely in that language. She set up a charity, Kino Klassika, to preserve, restore and share classic Russian and Eastern European cinema soon after. The charity organizes events, screenings, publications and exhibitions.

Apart from being an actress, director, and writer, Justine Waddell is also a founder of Asterisk Films & Projects. She is currently producing a documentary about prima ballerina Natalia Osipova for Sky Arts and a feature film version of Virginia Woolf’s novel, Night and Day.
